Santa Clarita Sports Report: June 17, 2015 – Canyon and Golden Valley have new coaches in baseball, softball and soccer.

Drew Peterson is the new baseball coach at Canyon. Kristan Hinze is the new softball coach.

Peterson is a Canyon High graduate and played baseball at College of the Canyons.

Steve Lombardi is the new baseball coach at Golden Valley.

He coached football and baseball at Saugus High.

John Bogdan is the new boys soccer coach at Golden Valley.

He coached the Albert Einstein Academy boys soccer team last season.

In the NBA, the Golden State Warriors won its first NBA championship in 40 years, knocking off the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the Finals.

Golden State won the game, 105-97. Andre Iguodala was selected as the MVP of the NBA Finals. He scored 25 points in Game 6.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Texas Rangers, 3-2. The Dodger scored two runs in the ninth inning to tie the score, 2-2.

But Robinson Chirinos hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game.

The Dodgers have dropped two in a row to the Rangers. They take the field again tonight in Texas.

Clatyton Kershaw starts for the Dodgers against Wandy Rodriguez for the Rangers.

First pitch is at 7:10.
