Santa Clarita Sports Report: June 25, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: June 25, 2015 – Valencia’s Zoe Campos shot a 1-over par 72 in the second round of the United State Junior Golf Association Taylor Made Adidas Junior All Star Tournament at Stonehenge Country Club in Indiana.

The 12-year-old lost her lead in the tournament. She is in second place, two shots behind Katie Hallinan from Ohio.

The third and final round of the tournament is today.

In high school volleyball, three players from the Foothill League were selected to the All-CIF Southern Section Division 2 first team.

Valencia’s Kyle Ensing and Dakota Abbott earned spots on the first team. Canyon’s Jared Hathaway was also selected to the first team.

Ensing set a school record with 561 kills in his senior season. Valencia reached the championship match in the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Cubs, 5-2. Justin Turner hit a three-run home run in the third inning to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead.

The Dodgers and Cubs wrap up their series today at Wrigley Field. Carlos Frias starts for the Dodgers against Jon Lester for the Cubs.
