Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 04, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 04, 2015 – The Hart boys soccer team is in the championship game of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.

Hart shut out Chaparral, 1-0, in the semifinals and became the first team from the Santa Clarita Valley to play in a CIF boys championship soccer game.

Anthony Salvadori scored the only goal in the game in the 20th minute.

Hart goalkeeper Christian Arriaga made the goal stand up with nine saves.

Hart will play Bellflower in the championship game. Bellflower beat Godinez, 1-0, in their semifinal game.

The Hart girls soccer team lost to Santiago from Corona, 4-2 in penalty kicks, in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

The two teams played to a 3-3 draw in regulation and overtime.

Hart ends its season with a 16-4-7 record.

The Hart girls basketball team lost to South Torrance, 67-49, in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division 2A playoffs.

Hart finishes with a 23-7 record.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Charlotte Hornets, 104-103. It was their second loss in a row. The Lakers take on the Miami Heat tonight.

In the NHL, the Kings beat the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2, and snapped their three-game losing streak.

The Kings took a 2-0 lead in the first period and scored two more goals in the second period.

Next up for the Kings are the Montreal Canadiens at Staples Center on Thursday night.
