Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 05, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 05, 2015 – The Hart boys soccer team is playing for a CIF Southern Section championship for the first time in school history.

The Hart boys will play Bellflower at Warren High School in Downey on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7:30.

Hart shut out Chaparral, 1-0, in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division 4 playoffs to advance to the championship game.

No team from the Santa Clarita Valley has won a CIF boys soccer championship. Hart could be the first.

In high school volleyball, the Canyon boys won their season opener in a sweep over Lakewood.

Jake DeYoung had 12 kills for Canyon.

The West Ranch boys swept Taft in three games to win their second match of the season.

The Golden Valley boys won their season opener, sweeping Glendale in three games.

In high school golf, the Valencia boys lost to Loyola by 23 strokes in a match at the Wilson Golf Course at Griffith Park.

Glen Teagle from Valencia shot the low round of the match, a 3-under 69.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Heat in Miami, 100-94. The Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

The Clippers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, 98-93 in overtime, at Staples Center.

The Clippers play the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Los Angeles Sports

In the NHL, the Kings take on the Montreal Canadiens at Staples Center tonight. The King are coming off a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. But the King have lost three of their past four games.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Canadiens tonight on AM 1220 KHTS. The puck drops at 7:30.
