Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 18, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 18, 2015 – The Golden Valley boys golf team shot a school record 183 over nine holes and won its match against Alemany by 24 strokes at the Encino Golf Club.

Ray Asuncion shot a 2-under 34 to pace Golden Valley. Jonathan Kang and Kameron Hobbs each shot 1-under.

The Valencia boys golf team was 11th out of 27 teams at the Oak Park Invitational at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake.

In high school tennis, the Valencia boys beat San Marcos, 14-4, and won its second match of the season.

Chad LeDuff swept his sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0.

The West Ranch boys tennis team beat Burroughs, 14-4. West Ranch improved to 4-1.

In high school volleyball, the Golden Valley boys lost to Cathedral in five games. Cathedral is the reigning CIF Southern Section Division 4 champion.

Golden Valley dropped to 5-4.

In college baseball, The Master’s College beat Antelope Valley University, 8-2. The Master’s College improved to 25-6.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Charlotte Hornets, 99-92, and snapped a little two-game losing streak.

Next up for the Clippers are the Sacramento Kings tonight.

Los Angeles Sports

In the NHL, the Kings plays the Anaheim Ducks tonight at Staples Center.

The Kings are coming off a 1-0 shutout over the Arizona Coyotes on Monday.

The puck drops at 7:30.
