Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 19, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 19, 2015 – The Master’s College women’s basketball team lost to Shawee State from Ohio, 69-57, in the first round of the NAIA Division I tournament in Missouri.

The Master’s College women were the No. 5 seed in the tournament. Shawnee State is the No. 4 seed.

The Master’s College women end their season with a 24-9 record.

On the men’s side, Russell Byrd from The Master’s College was selected to the NAIA Division I men’s basketball all-star team.

The Division I All Stars will play the Division II All Stars on Saturday.

Byrd led the Golden State Athletic Conference in scoring with 16.9 points per game and had 8.3 rebounds per game.

In high school softball, Canyon beat Burbank, 2-1, and won its sixth game of the season.

Amanda Doyle drove in two runs and hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.

Brittany Workman pitched a complete game for the win.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Sacramento Kings, 116-105, and won their second game in a row.

Next up for the Clippers are the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

Los Angeles Sports

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Anaheim Ducks, 3-2, in overtime.

The Kings plays the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
