Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 20, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 20, 2015 – Chase Wheatcroft from Saugus tossed a no-hitter against Golden Valley in the Foothill League opener for both teams.

Saugus won the game, 5-0. Wheatcroft struck out six and walked none. Only two batters reached base, both on errors.

It was the sixth no-hitter in Saugus High School history and the first since 2005.

The Valencia baseball team beat West Ranch, 7-1, in their Foothill League opener. Trace Eldridge hit a solo home run for Valencia.

The Canyon baseball team shut out Hart, 3-0. Daniel Buonauro tossed a complete game, four-hitter for Canyon.

The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team lost to Littlerock, 6-1.

In high school softball, Hart beat Chatsworth, 7-4. Sage Miller hit a three-run home run and Raquel Blanchard hit a solo homer for Hart.

The Santa Clarita Christian softball team beat Holy Family, 9-6. Sydeny Preheim went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs.

The Albert Einstein Academy softball team beat Highland Hall, 23-2. Beatrice Panduro was 5-for-5, hit a home run and drove in four runs.

In high school golf, Valencia beat Oaks Christian and Rio Mesa in a match at Saticoy Country Club. Valencia shot 451 as a team.
