Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 26, 2015 – The Hart boys golf team won the first Foothill League match at the Encino Golf Club.

Hart shot 371 as a team and won by 16 strokes over West Ranch. Saugus was third, one shot behind West Ranch.

Hart freshman Jess Scheller shot the low round of the day, a 3-under 69.

In high school tennis, the West Ranch boys beat Valencia, 10-8, in the Foothill League opener for both teams.

The Golden Valley tennis team won its Foothill League opener over Saugus, 81-78, on games. The two teams tied, 9-9, in sets.

Golden Valley’s Brandon Yu swept his sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

The Hart boys tennis team beat Canyon, 17-1.

Sam Douglas from Hart swept his sets, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.

In high school volleyball, Valencia beat San Marcos in five games. Kyle Ensing set the Valencia school record with 38 kills in the match. He broke his own previous record of 37 kills.

In the NBA, the Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 101-99 in overtime.

The Lakers play the Toronto Raptors on Friday.

Los Angeles Sports

The Clippers beat the New York Knicks, 111-80. The Clippers take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

In the NHL, the Kings play the New York Islanders tonight. The Kings have won two games in a row and are coming off a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
