Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 30, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 30, 2015 – The Valencia baseball team beat Canyon, 10-7, to move into a first-place tie in the Foothill League standings.

Kevin Chandler hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the sixth inning to cap a five-run outburst.

Valencia improved to 3-1 in the Foothill League.

Hart beat Golden Valley, 8-1, to keep pace with Valencia atop the Foothill League standings.

Jack Ralston tossed a four-hitter for Hart. He struck out eight and walked two.

The West Ranch baseball team beat Saugus, 6-5. Jagger Rusconi hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to win the game for West Ranch.

Both West Ranch and Saugus are tied for second place in league at 2-2.

In high school softball, the Albert Einstein Academy shut out Calvary Christian of Oxnard, 23-0. Freshman Cassidy Cangemi hit three home runs and drove in eight runs.

She also pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Boston Celtics, 119-106. The Clippers have won seven games in a row and their past three on the road.

They take on the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center on Tuesday.

The Lakers lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 107-99. The Lakers have lost three of the past four games.

They play the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

Los Angeles Sports

In the NHL, the Kings play the Blackhawks in Chicago tonight. The Kings are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild that snapped a three-game winning streak.
