Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 31, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: March 31, 2015 – Valencia High graduate Alison Lee finished in fourth place in the LPGA Kia Classic in Carlsbad over the weekend. It was the best finish of her LPGA pro career.

She shot 16-under for the four-round tournament and was four strokes behind winner Cristie Kerr.

Lee, a 20-year-old rookie on the LPGA, also qualified for the tour’s first major, the ANA Inspiration which starts next week in Rancho Mirage.

In high school softball, West Ranch is ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 poll.

The Santa Clarita Christian softball team is ranked No. 8 in Division 7.

In high school volleyball, the Valencia boys are ranked No. 6 in the Southern Section Division 2 poll. West Ranch is ranked No. 8 in Division 2.

In high school tennis, the West Ranch boys are ranked No. 9 in the Southern Section Division 2 poll.

In the NBA, the Lakers beat the Philadelphia 76ers, 113-111 in overtime. The Lakers won their 20th game of the season.

Next up for the Lakers are the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-1. The Kings have lost two games in a row.

They play the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
