Santa Clarita Sports Report: May 05, 2015 – The West Ranch softball team beat Valencia, 4-3, to improve to 6-0 in the Foothill League.

West Ranch is ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division poll. The Wildcats have an eight-game winning streak.

West Ranch plays Saugus today in a Foothill League game.

The Albert Einstein Academy softball team is ranked No. 9 in the Southern Section Division 7 poll.

Albert Einstein has won nine of its past 10 games. They take on the Calvary Christian today in an Omega League game.

In high school volleyball, Valencia is ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division 2 poll.

Oak Park is ranked No. 1 in Division 2.

In high school tennis, West Ranch is ranked No. 9 in the Southern Section Division 2 poll.

Santa Margarita is ranked No. 1.

In the NBA, the Clippers stunned the Houston Rockets by winning Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series without Chris Paul.

The Clippers won the game, 117-101. Blake Griffin recorded his third triple-double of the playoffs with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists.

Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals is on Wednesday night.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-3. The Brewers scored three runs in the eighth inning to take the lead.

Game 2 of the series between the Dodgers and the Brewers is today. First pitch is at 5:10.
