Santa Clarita Sports Report: May 08, 2015 – Saugus swimmer Abbey Weitzel won two races at the Foothill League finals at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center.
She won the 200-meter freestyle and the 100-meter backstroke, giving her eight individual Foothill League championships in her high school career.
The Valencia boys and girls teams won their portions of the meet. Nikol Popov set the meet records in winning the 200-meter individual medley in 2 minutes, 0.45 seconds, and the 100-meter breaststroke in 1 minute, 0.63 seconds.

Popov was also on the winning 200 freestyle relay team and the 200 medley relay team. Both relays set meet records as well.
Johnny Ellery won two races for Valencia. He won the 100 butterfly and the 200 freestyle.
In the NBA, the Clippers take on the Houston Rockets in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinals at Staples Center tonight.
The series is tied, 1-1. The Clippers lost Game 2 to the Rockets on Wednesday night.
Chris Paul has missed the first two games of the series with an injured hamstring. He is a game-time decision to play in tonight’s game.
Tipoff is at 7:30.

In the major leagues, the Dodger beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 14-4. Yasmani Grandal hit two home runs and drove in eight runs for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are off to Colorado to start a weekend series against the Rockies tonight.
