Santa Clarita Sports Report: May 18, 2015 – The Valencia boys volleyball team swept Capistrano Valley in three games in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

Valencia is in the semifinals of the CIF playoffs for the first time since 2012.

The Vikings take on Burroughs of Burbank in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The Canyon boys volleyball team lost to Oak Park in three games in the quarterfinals of the CIF playoffs.

Oak Park is the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Canyon ends its season at 29-7 and won its first playoff matches since 2006.

In golf, Valencia High graduate Alison Lee finished in third place at the LPGA Kingsmill Championship in Virginia.

She was the leader of the tournament after the first two rounds. Minjee Lee won the tournament at 15-under. Alison Lee was three shots back.

In cycling, Peter Sagan from Slovakia won the Tour of California race.

Sagan was third in the final stage of the Tour of California around the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Sunday. One stage of the race was through Santa Clarita.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Houston Rockets, 113-100, in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The Rockets won the series after the Clippers had a 3-1 lead. The Clippers are the ninth team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in the playoffs.

The Rockets move on to the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies, 1-0. Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning for the Dodgers and notched his first save of the season.

The Dodgers have the day off today. They start a series against the Giants on Tuesday.
