Wednesday’s Foothill League baseball schedule (first pitch is at 3:30):

Golden Valley (1-10) vs Valencia (9-2)

Saugus (7-4) vs Hart (6-5)

West Ranch (7-4) vs Canyon (3-8)

Santa Clarita High School Softball

Valencia (6-1) made a huge statement Tuesday, blanking previously-unbeaten-in-league-play Saugus (6-1), 10-0.

With the win, the Vikings pull the Centurions into a tie atop the Foothill League standings with three games to play.

There was a lot of offense at Golden Valley, where Canyon (4-3) came from down 12-8 to score an incredible twelve runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away from the Grizzlies (1-6) and take sole possession of third place.

West Ranch (3-4) jumped on top of Hart (1-6) early (four runs in the first inning) and never looked back, defeating the Indians, 10-4.

The Wildcats remain deadlocked in a battle with the Canyon Cowboys for third place in the Foothill League.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The struggling Dodgers’ offense came alive at Tropicana Field on Tuesday, blasting the Rays for ten runs in a 10-5 road victory.

Los Angeles’ starting outfield trio of Trayce Thompson, Joc Pederson and Yasiel Puig combined for a home run each and eight RBI.

The Dodgers (14-13) finish the quick series in Tampa tonight and then head to Toronto.

First pitch is at 4:10 PST, and you can hear every inning live on your hometown station, AM-1220 KHTS.
