There was a major upset that shook up the Foothill League standings, Wednesday afternoon.

Hart (7-5) jumped all over Saugus (7-5) in the bottom of the first inning and played a complete, thorough game throughout en route to a 10-4 victory.

Robert Reeves hit a 2-run home run for Hart, who now moves into a tie with Saugus for third place in the league.

A little over a week ago the Centurions were sitting in a tie for first place with Valencia, and have since dropped three of four league games. Now, the Indians have climbed up to a tie for third with the big win on Wednesday.

Valencia (10-2) took care of business on its home diamond against Golden Valley (1-11), 5-3 to push their lead to two games up on second-place West Ranch.

Junior Trace Eldridge continues to dominate at the plate with another 3-for-4 outing including a triple and RBI. He’s hit safely in nine of his past ten games, and is among the favorites for Foothill League Player of the Year.

West Ranch (8-4) plated seven in the second inning and added another two in the third inning to stave off Canyon (3-9) for a 9-6 victory.

Sam Gray did it all for West Ranch, going 2-for-4 at the plate and pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to help preserve the win.

The win and the Saugus loss ensured the Wildcats’ sitting alone in second for the time being.
