Santa Clarita Sports Report: November 07, 2014: The Hart and Valencia football teams meet tonight for the Foothill League championship.

Both teams are 4-0 in the Foothill League. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the CIF Southern Section West Valley Division.

The game is at Valencia High School. Kickoff is at 7.

In other action in the Foothill League, the Canyon football team plays West Ranch. Canyon is 2-2 in the Foothill League. West Ranch is 1-3. The game is at Canyon High.

Santa Clarita High School Football

Saugus plays Golden Valley in a game with possible playoff implications.

Saugus is 1-3 and needs a win to stay in the playoff picture. Golden Valley is 0-4 and looking for its first Foothill League win in school history.

The game is at College of the Canyons.

The Santa Clarita Christian football team lost to Saddleback Valley Christian, 54-40, in the San Joaquin League finale.

Santa Clarita Christian finished with a 4-6 record and was  2-3 in league.

In high school golf, Golden Valley’s Elisa Pierre shot a 2-over 74 at the CIF Southern Section Individual Championship at the Western Hills Golf Club in Chino Hills and advanced to the next round of the playoffs.

She finished in a tie for 11th place in a field of 118 golfers.

Pierre will play in the Southern California Regional State Qualifier at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino next week.

Los Angeles Kings News

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the visiting New York Islanders, 2-1 in a shootout. The Kings have lost five of their past six games.

Next up for the Kings are the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
