Santa Clarita Sports Report – November 13, 2017

CIF SS Playoff Football

All six teams that made the playoffs advanced to the next round last Friday, and you can check this week’s schedule here.

The Master’s University

Women’s Soccer: The Mustangs received an At-Large berth to the NAIA Opening Round tournament, a win moving them on to the NAIA National Tournament in Alabama starting November 27th.

No. 11 Masters will host Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) Saturday, November 18, at 11:00 AM.

COC Football

The Cougars closed out the regular season in style with their fourth consecutive 40 point performance in a 44-28 win over Bakersfield. Andrew Brito threw for 391 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

COC will host Mt. San Antonio in the Western States Bowl to determine the Western State Conference champion on Saturday. Kickoff is at 6 PM.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are in Phoenix tonight in a battle of  the bottom of the West Standings (3rd to last vs 4th to last). LA picked up its first win of the season in a 132-130 victory over the Suns in October. The 132 points are the most the Lakers have scored this season.

Tip-off is at 6 PM.

Justin moved to the San Fernando Valley from the Inland Empire in 2011 to complete his BA of Communications degree at California State University, Northridge. Just a few months after getting his degree he moved to Valencia and started as an intern at AM-1220 KHTS, and was promoted to Sports Reporter within a year.
