Santa Clarita Sports Report: November 20, 2014

Santa Clarita Sports Report: November 20, 2014: The Trinity Classical Academy football team plays Joshua Springs in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 8-man playoffs on Friday.

It will be a rematch of last year’s championship game in Division 2. Trinity won the game and the Division 2 8-man title.

Trinity shut out Noli Indian, 58-0, in the quarterfinals last week. Joshua Springs beat Trona, 62-12, in ther quarterfinal game.

The game is at Valencia High School.

In high school volleyball, the Santa Clarita Christian girls take on Upland Christian in the championship game of the CIF Southern Section Division 5AA playoffs at 1 on Saturday afternoon at Fullerton College.

Santa Clarita Christian, the No. 1 seed in the Division 5AA playoffs, beat Calvary Murrieta in three games in the semifinals. Upland Christian eliminated Faith Baptist, 3-1, in its semifinal match.

In the NHL, the Kings are home for a game against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at Staples Center.

The Kings have won two games in a row and are coming off a 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
