Santa Clarita Sports Report – November 21, 2017

TMU Athletics

Men’s Golf: the Mustangs closed out the calendar year with their best performance of the season in the Firestorm Invitational last week at Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona. After three straight 5th place finishes, TMU broke through to earn a 2nd place team finish, led by Sam Eisenhuth and Josh Delo.

Eisenhuth shot a two round 137 (5 under par) to win the tournament with the top individual score. The Mustangs resume play February 12 in the ACU Spring Invitational, again at Moon Valley Country Club.

Women’s Basketball: Hannah Forrar had 21 points and eight boards to lead the Mustangs to a 74-64 win Monday over Carroll. TMU (5-1) hosts Cal Lutheran tomorrow at 2 PM.

Men’s Basketball: the Mustangs play their last home game tonight until December 8. Oddly enough, both games are against Westcliff University. Tipoff for tonight’s matchup is at 7 PM.

COC Athletics

The Cougars women’s volleyball team embarks on a road to a state championship tonight, with the first round of the CCCAA Regional Championships. Canyons is a 3-seed in the 16-team tournament and hosts 14-seed Golden West. First serve is at 7 PM

Justin moved to the San Fernando Valley from the Inland Empire in 2011 to complete his BA of Communications degree at California State University, Northridge. Just a few months after getting his degree he moved to Valencia and started as an intern at AM-1220 KHTS, and was promoted to Sports Reporter within a year.
