Santa Clarita Sports Report – November 22, 2017

CIF SS Playoff Football

Friday’s CIF SS Semifinal schedule:

Division 2

3 Heritage (11-1) vs 2 Valencia (11-1) at 7:00

Location: Valencia HS

Division 6

4 Golden Valley (7-5) vs 9 Mira Costa (6-6) at 7:00

Location: Mira Costa HS

1 Bishop Diego (11-1) vs 6 Saugus (6-6) at 7:30

Location: College of the Canyons

TMU Basketball

Men’s Basketball: Five Mustangs scored in double figures, led by center Timothy Soares (21 points and 8 boards) as Master’s picked up its second win of 50 or more points, 108-58 over Westcliff. The Mustangs have a nine days off before a two game road trip to Northern California to face UC Merced and Pacific Union College the following weekend.

Women’s Basketball: The Mustangs host Cal Lutheran this afternoon in a matinee on Bross Court. Tipoff is at 2:00.

COC Volleyball

The Cougars knocked Golden West out of the SoCal Regional Playoffs with a 3-1 win to move on to the second round. Emily Burns had 24 kills and Rachel Perez paced COC with 51 assists.

Saturday, the 3-seed Cougars host 11-seed El Camino. The Warriors upset Bakersfield in their 6 vs 11 matchup. Winner advances to the State championship that combines both NoCal and SoCal regional finalists.

First serve is at 6:00.
