Santa Clarita Sports Report – November 8, 2017

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

The Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals are playing for a CIF-SS championship for the second time in three seasons after Tuesday’s 3-0 sweep of the Mammoth Huskies.

The Cardinals (18-6) will travel to Cerritos College on Friday morning to face the Glendale Adventist Cougars (21-5), the #1 ranked team in Division 9.

It will be a battle of 1 vs 6 at 9:00 AM Friday, November 10.

TMU Soccer

The Women’s soccer team fell in the GSAC Semifinals to nemesis Westmont, 1-0, knocking the Mustangs out of the tournament. With a 14-5-1 record, the Mustangs now await the NAIA Tournament selections to see if they make the championship tournament.

Tomorrow the men’s soccer team gets the opportunity to avenge the women with their Semifinal game against Westmont. Kickoff is at 2 PM in Santa Barbara.

Los Angeles Lakers

One of the greatest rivalries in sports will debut some new faces tonight in Boston. Kyrie Irving and the Celtics host Lonzo Ball and the Lakers tonight in their first matchup.

The Lakers/Celtics rivalry is remarkable to say the least. In the last 150 meetings between the two teams, the record is 76-74, with the edge going to the Lakers.

Tip off tonight is at 5:00.
