Santa Clarita Sports: The Hart and Valencia football teams improved to 2-0 in the Foothill League.
The Golden Valley and West Ranch football teams dropped to 0-2.
Valencia beat Saugus in a rout, 56-19. Jay Jay Wilson scored six touchdowns. He caught three touchdown passes and scored on three touchdown runs.
He had 160 yards receiving and 139 yards rushing for a total of 199 total yards from scrimmage.
Saugus dropped to 1-1 in league.
Santa Clarita High School Football
The Hart football team beat West Ranch, 42-14, after a slow start to the game. West Ranch led 14-0 in the second quarter before Hart rattled off 42 unanswered points.
The Indians scored 35 points in the second half. Hart quarterback Brady White accounted for five touchdowns. He threw three touchdown passes and scored two rushing touchdowns.
The Canyon football team beat Golden Valley, 28-10. Miles Fallin threw two touchdown passes in the second half to lead Canyon over the Grizzlies.
Canyon improved to 1-1 in league.
The Albert Einstein Academy football team lost to Hillcrest Christian, 66-36, in the Omega League opener.
Justin Hill scored four touchdowns for Einstein. He had three rushing touchdowns and scored on a 78-yard kickoff return. Einstein dropped to 1-4.
The Trinity Classical Academy football team beat Faith Baptist, 48-26, and won its sixth game in a row.
Trinity is 6-1 overall.
The Santa Clarita Christian football team beat Fairmont Prep, 42-14, in a San Joaquin League game.
Santa Clarita Christian improved to 4-2 and 2-0 in league.
Los Angeles Kings News
In the NHL, the Kings beat the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, and won their fourth game in a row.
Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson scored for the Kings. Jonathan Quick made 40 saves.
Next up for the Kings are the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
