Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

Brianna Plunk and Caitlin Liebe each had twelve kills as the Saugus Centurions (5-4) took sole possession of third place with a 3-2 victory over the Hart Indians (4-5).

Friday and Saturday the Centurions are competing in the Crescenta Valley Tournament with group games against Pioneer Valley, Chatsworth and La Canada today.

Trinity hosts Guidance Charter in a Heritage League matchup today, looking to move to 6-1 in league play.

Friday’s Foothill League football schedule:

Saugus (2-0) vs Valencia (2-0)*

West Ranch (1-1) vs Hart (1-1)

Golden Valley (0-2) vs Canyon (0-2)

Rio Hondo Prep vs Trinity (3-4)

Fairmont Prep vs Santa Clarita Christian (3-4)

TMU Soccer

Women’s soccer has posted back-to-back shutouts after defeating William Jessup 3-0 at Reese Field, Thursday. TMU sits in fourth place in the conference with a 4-2-1 record.

Men’s soccer made it a clean sweep of William Jessup with a 2-1 victory, giving the Mustangs a 4-2-1 record to match the women’s team. All-American Humphrey Mahowa scored both goals to bring his total to 13 on the season.

Saturday, both teams host Menlo, with the women starting at 11 am and a 1:30 pm kickoff for the men.

COC Football

The Canyons Cougars (3-4) will fight to turn around their season Saturday night at Moorpark. COC is currently on a four-game losing streak.

Kickoff from Moorpark is at 6:00 pm.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers head to Chicago down 3-2 after a disappointing past two games where they were outscored 18-6. Thursday night, the Cubs busted open a 1-1 game in the sixth (two runs) and eighth (five runs) innings where they did the damage to put Los Angeles away.

It will be up to Clayton Kershaw to force a Game 7 when he takes the mound at Wrigley Field Saturday.

Los Angeles Rams

The 3-3 Rams are in London, England to play a “home game” against the New York Giants at Twickenham Stadium. Kickoff is at 6:30 AM PST.
