Santa Clarita Sports Report: October 23, 2014: The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team shut out Citrus College, 6-0, in a Western State Conference, South Division game.
The COC women ran their unbeaten streak in conference to eight games.
The Lady Cougars scored four goals in the second half. Marissa Kneisel scored three of them.
Jennifer Mendez scored two goals in the first half to give her team a 2-0 lead.
Jennifer Brown scored in the second half.

Valencia High graduate Jesus Pescador scored in the second minute of the game. It was his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Jonathan Noriega scored in the 53rd minute.
COC improved to 7-2-4 overall and 5-1-4 in conference.
In college volleyball, the College of the Canyons women beat Bakersfield College, 3-0, and won their ninth match in a row. The Lady Cougars are 13-3 overall.
COC sophomore setter Taylor Kasha was selected as the Western State Conference female athlete of the week. She had 63 assists and 11 digs in two matches last week.
The COC women’s volleyball team is ranked No. 18 in the state and is in first place in the Western State Conference, South Division standings.
