Santa Clarita Sports Report: October 29, 2014: Two players from the Foothill League advanced to WSCGA tournament, the second round of the CIF girls golf individual playoffs.

Elisa Pierre from Golden Valley and Mack Bailey from West Ranch qualified through the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regionals at the River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard.

Pierre shot an even par 72 and finished in fourth place on the Vineyard Course. Bailey shot a 6-over 78 and was part of a playoff to advance to the next round. There were 14 golfers who finished 6-over. Only 11 advanced to the next round.

Six golfers from the Foothill League played in the Northern Regionals.

The WSCGA qualifying tournament is at the Western Hills Golf Club in Chino Hills on Nov. 6.

In college golf, the College of the Canyons women’s team won the Western State Conference finals at the Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.

It was the first conference championship for the COC women since 2010.

In high school tennis, the Valencia girls beat Oaks Christian, 14-4, and ran their undefeated record to 19-0.

Valencia’s No. 1 singles player Jennifer Shin swept her sets.

In the major leagues, the Royals shut out the Giants, 10-0, in Game 6 of the World Series.

The Royals scored seven runs in the second inning. Yordano Ventura tossed seven shutout innings, giving up only three hits.

Game 7 is tonight in Kansas City.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Philadelphia Flyers, 3-2, in overtime to start their five-game road trip.

The Kings had their six-game winning streak snapped.

Next up for the Kings are the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.
