Santa Clarita Sports Report – October 4, 2017

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

First, a big win for Santa Clarita Christian football in Saturday’s Faith Bowl (three straight wins over the Knights) to preserve an undefeated record (5-0) and move the Cardinals to sixth in Division 13. Then, Tuesday’s tight 3-1 girls’ volleyball victory over crosstown rival Trinity Classical Academy completed the sweep for the week. The Knights did not make it easy, with the teams separated by ten total points in the four games.

The win moved the Division 9 No. 1 Cardinals to 11-2 on the season.

The SCCS Cardinals are flying high with confidence after a big few days for the athletics department.

TMU Women’s Soccer

Conference play is starting to heat up in women’s soccer with an NAIA top ten showdown at Reese Field today

The Mustangs (11-1, 4-0) put their unblemished GSAC record on the line against the hottest team in the conference, Vanguard (seven match winning streak), at 4:00.

2017 MLB Postseason

After Tuesday’s American League Wild Card victory for the New York Yankees (8-4 over Minnesota), the focus shifts to the National League and the best division in baseball.

Who will emerge to face the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium Friday night?
