6 Santa Clarita Christian: 22

Saddleback Valley Christian: 19

The Cardinals moved to 6-0 on the year after last night’s historic win over the Warriors. Not only was it the Cardinals’ first win over the reigning San Joaquin League champs, it was Saddleback’s first loss in league play since 2009.

SCCS has the inside track at a league championship with their final three league opponents a combined 6-12.

Saugus (2-3, 0-0) vs 4 Golden Valley (3-2, 0-0)

Hart: 3

Saugus: 2

The Hart Indians took control of the Foothill League with Thursday’s five set victory over the Centurions, moving them to 5-0 with the second half of league play to go. The good news for Saugus is they have one more shot against both Valencia and Hart to get back into the championship picture.

Valencia: 3

Golden Valley: 0

Valencia made quick work of GV, outscoring the Grizzlies 75-34 en route to sole possession of second place. All eyes are on the Vikings match against Hart, October 12th.

West Ranch: 3

Canyon: 1

The Cowboys started strong with a 25-22 win in the first game, but the Wildcats rallied to take the next three and move themselves within a game of Saugus for third place.

Santa Clarita Christian: 3

Palmdale Aerospace Academy: 0

The top ranked Cardinals are 5-0 in the Heritage League and have only lost eight sets all season.

2017 MLB Postseason

Hart graduate Trevor Bauer was lights out in Cleveland’s 4-0 Game 1 shutout over the Yankees. Bauer pitched six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight batters and allowing just two hits.

The Dodgers postseason quest for their first World Series title in 29 years begins tonight at Chavez Ravine. It’s a National League Divisional Series matchup of the best teams in the NL West.

Both Cougar soccer teams are at home today for the final tune-ups before conference play.
