Santa Clarita Sports Report – September 28, 2017

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

Valencia: 3

Saugus: 1

Despite 31 kills from Caitlin Liebe, the Saugus Centurions were overpowered by Valencia Wednesday. 25-22, 25-16, 21-25, and 25-18. It was the fourth win in five matches for the Vikings. Both teams sit in a tie for second place with 3-1 records.

We’ve got bonus coverage of high school football this week, with Thursday night football! Two Foothill League teams play tonight, with the rest on a bye this week.

Both games are scheduled for 7:00 kickoffs.

TMU Soccer

The Masters University men’s soccer team cracked the NAIA top 25 this week at No. 25, it’s first time in the polls since 2015. The Mustangs travel to San Diego Christian for a GSAC match at 2:30.

TMU women’s soccer team is up to No. 11 in the latest polls after two wins last week. The Lady Mustangs face San Diego Christian at noon.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers (102-57) closed the regular season in style Wednesday, blanking the Padres 10-0 for their first series sweep since mid August. Los Angeles outscored San Diego 28-5 in the three games, and took the season series 13-6.

Today is an off day for the blue, before finishing the season in Colorado this weekend.
