Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Christian Boys Basketball Win In Playoffs

The Santa Clarita Christian boys basketball team started its playoff run a day early. But the Santa Clarita Christian boys had no problem with Tarbut V’Torah, 64-38, in the second round of the Division 5A playoffs.

On the girls side, the Albert Einstein Academy lost to Silver Valley, 59-25, in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls lost to Arrowhead Christian, 55-29, in the first round of the Division 5A playoffs.

The Hart boys basketball team opens the Division 2A playoffs at home against Beckman tonight. Hart is the No. 3 seed in the Division 2A playoffs and the champion of the Foothill League.

The West Ranch boys basketball team is home for its first-round Division 2AA playoff game against Milikan from Long Beach.

The Valencia boys are on the road against Quartz Hill, the Golden League champion.

The Canyon boys travel to play Loara in the first round of the Division 2AA playoffs.

The Albert Einstein Academy boys basketball team plays at Saddleback Valley Christian in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs.

The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team travels to Lee Vining in the second round of the Division 6 playoffs. Trinity is the No. 1 seed in the Division 6 bracket.

In high school soccer, the Hart boys beat Colony, 2-1, in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs. Andrew Nielsen scored both goals for Hart.

The Valencia boys advanced in the Division 4 playoffs with a 2-1 win over Salesian of Los Angeles.

The West Ranch boys soccer team lost to Hawthorne, 5-1, in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs.

The Hart girls soccer team is home for their opening round game in the Division 2 playoffs against Ventura.

The Valencia girls play Santa Barbara at home.

The Canyon girls are on the road against Newbury Park.

The West Ranch girls play Chino Hills, the No. 2 seed in the Division 2 playoffs.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls open the Division 7 playoffs against Dunn.

Sochi Winter Olympics – Medal Count

In the Winter Olympics, Maddie Bowman won gold for the United States in halfpipe skiing.

The US women’s hockey team lost to Canada, 3-2 in overtime, in the gold medal game. The United States women took the silver medals.

Team USA leads the medal count at the Sochi Olympics with 25. The United States has won eight gold medals.

Russia is second in the medal count with 23. The Netherlands is third with 22.
