Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update August 08, 2014

Valencia High graduate Alison Lee reached the quarterfinals of the US Women’s Amateur Championship at Nassau Country Club in New York.

Lee defeated Eimi Koga from Hawaii in 19 holes in match play in the round of 16.

Lee, the No. 3 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, plays Brooke Mackenzie Henderson from Canada today in the quarterfinals.

Henderson is the No. 2 player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

In auto racing, Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield will host a tripleheader of INEX national qualifiers this weekend.

The INEX Thunder Roadsters, Legends and Banoleros will be racing for state and national points at the track tonight and Friday night.

The NASCAR Pro Late Models, Super Stocks and 911 Racing Series will also be racing at Kern County on Saturday night.

The green flag drops at 7.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Angels, 7-0, and took three of four games in the Freeway Series.

The Dodgers scored three runs in the third inning and added two more in the eighth inning.

Hanley Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a double and drove in two runs.

Next up for the Dodgers are the Milwaukee Brewers tonight.

Roberto Hernandez will make his Dodgers debut on the mound for the Dodgers. He was acquired in a trade with Phillies on Thursday.
