Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update August 18, 2014

Brandon Jauregui won the sixth race in the College of the Canyons Cross Country Series. He completed the course in 15 minutes, 25.4 seconds.

Grant Stromberg was second, followed by Vahayan Isayan in third.

Marissa Magsarili won the women’s race in 18 minutes, 14.5 seconds.

Jasmine Macon was second. Taylor Hernandez came in third.

In college volleyball, The Master’s College women lost their season opener, 3-1, to Viterbo University.

The Lady Mustangs lost the first two games of the match, but won the third. They lost the fourth game, 25-18.

The Master’s College will play in the Biola Summer Slam Tournament starting on Thursday.

In the auto racing, Jack Hawksworth, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport in the Verizon IndyCar Series, finished in 10th place at the Milwaukee Mile.

It was the first top-10 finish in the IndyCar Series for Hawksworth in the IndyCar Series.

Will Power won the race, his third of the season.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the visiting Brewers, 7-2.

The Dodgers were swept by the Brewers over the weekend and have lost four of their past five games.

The Dodgers have the day off today. They start a series against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.
