Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update August 27, 2014

Hart High graduate Jason Gore and Valencia High alum Max Homa earned their PGA Tour cards for the 2015 season.

Both finished in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour money list to earn their PGA Tour cards. Gore was ninth in earnings on the Web.com Tour. He earned his PGA card for the first time since 2009.

Homa was 17th in earnings on the Web.com Tour. He will be a rookie on the PGA Tour in 2015.

In college volleyball, The Master’s College women swept West Coast Baptist, 3-0, and won their first match of the season.

The Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 19 in the NAIA, are 1-2.

In college soccer, The Master’s College men lost to Marymount California, 2-1.

Joseph Hess scored the lone goal for The Master’s College. Marymount won the game with a goal in the 86th minute.

The Master’s College dropped to 0-3.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks, 9-5. Matt Kemp hit a two-run home run in the first inning.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood.
