In college track and field, Canyon High graduate Chris Low won his heat race in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division I Outdoor championships in Oregon.
Low, who won a state championship in the 800 at College of the Canyons, won his semifinals race in 1 minute, 48.34 seconds.
The Long Beach State junior is the No. 3 seed in the 800 meters final. Mississippi State’s Brandon McBride is the No. 1 seed. He won his heat race in 1 minute, 48.09 seconds.
Patrick Rono from Arkansas is the No. 2 seed.

The Los Angeles Kings were a snowflake away from sweeping the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Instead, the Rangers won Game 4, 2-1, and survived to play another game.
The Kings nearly missed two goals that stopped on the goal line. The second one came late in the third period and would have tied the score.
The Stanley Cup Finals return to Los Angeles. Game 5 is at Staples Center on Friday.

In the major leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Cincinnati Reds, 5-0, and had their little three-game winning streak snapped.
The Reds jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Reds starter Johnny Cueto struck out 12 in six shutout innings.
The Dodgers and Reds continue their series today. Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Alfredo Simon for the Reds.
