Santa Clarita Sports: Saugus Baseball Hands Hart First Loss Of The Season

The Saugus baseball team did something to Hart no other team has been able to do this season.

Saugus beat Hart, 6-1, handing the Indians their first loss.

Hart entered the game with a perfect 4-0 record in the Foothill League. The Indians were 10-0-1 overall.

Saugus scored four runs in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie. Saugus starter Eric Little pitched a complete game giving up one run on five hits and struck out 11.

Hart didn’t score until the top of the seventh inning, a solo home run by Cody Miller.

Saugus improved to 3-2 in league and 9-4 overall.

West Ranch shut out Canyon, 8-0, and is tied with Hart for first place in the Foothill League standings.

West Ranch starter AJ West tossed four scoreless innings and won his fourth game of the season.

Canyon collected only two hits in the game.

The Valencia baseball team lost to Temecula Valley, 7-6, in the Boras Classic tournament. The Vikings play Chino Hills today.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Phoenix Suns, 112-108, and clinched the Pacific Division championship.

The Clippers are back on the court tonight against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings, 107-102. It was the 50th loss of the season for the Lakers.

They play the Mavericks on Friday.

In the major leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 5-1. The Dodgers are 4-1. They have their home opener against the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.

In the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings shut out the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-0. The Kings take on the Sharks in San Jose tonight. Listen to the game between the Kings and the Sharks on AM 1220 KHTS. The puck drops at 7:30.
