Santa Clarita Sports: Valencia Baseball Ties Season High In Runs

The Valencia baseball team clobbered Golden Valley, 21-3, in a Foothill League game and matched a season high for runs scored in a game.

The Vikings collected 18 hits, six doubles and three home runs in the game. Keston Hiura was 3-for-5, hit a home run and scored four runs.

Devin Davis hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Valencia scored nine runs in the seventh inning to blow open the game.

The Vikings have won three Foothill League games in a row and are 3-2 in league play. Golden Valley lost its fifth straight league game and is 0-5.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 107-101. The Clippers and the Thunder split the four games they played against each other.

The Clippers play the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Detroit Tigers, 7-6 in extra innings. The Dodgers scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the score, 6-6.

But Victor Martinez hit a solo home run in the 10th inning to give the Tigers the go-ahead run.

The Los Angeles Dodgers start a weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday.

In the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings lost to the Calgary Flames, 4-3, in a shootout. The Kings tied the score, 3-3, in the third period on a goal by Dwight King.

The Kings have lost four of their past five games. They play the Edmonton Oilers tonight.
