The Saugus football team won its season opener, 31-20, over Burroughs of Burbank at Canyon High School last night.
Saugus scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to rally for the win. Burroughs had a 13-10 lead after three quarters.
Saugus quarterback Jared Carbajal rushed for 181 yards and scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

The Hart football team has a tough opener against Tesoro from the South Coast League.
Tesoro reached the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Pac 5 Division playoffs last year.
Hart sophomore quarterback Connor Wingenroth will be making his first varsity start, coach Mike Herrington said.
The game is set to start at 7:30 tonight at College of the Canyons.
In other games, Golden Valley faces Simi Valley and West Ranch plays Nordhoff at Valencia High School.
In college football, College of the Canyons opens against Antelope Valley College at Cougar Stadium. The game is set to start at 7 on Saturday night. Listen to all the action on AM 1220, KHTS.
In college soccer, The Master’s College women shut out Marymount, 5-0, and won their third game of the season. The Master’s College women are 3-1 after four games.
Next up for The Master’s College is Concordia on Monday.
In baseball, the Angels beat the Mariners, 4-3, behind a three-run homer from Torii Hunter. Howie Kendrick added a solo shot, but the Angels couldn’t make up any ground on the Texas Rangers in the American League West standings.
The Rangers beat the Rays, 7-2, to stay 3 ½ games ahead of the Angels.
