The Saugus girls volleyball team is off to a great start. Saugus swept visiting Highland in impressive fashion, 25-11, 25-9, 25-8, and won its first volleyball match of the season yesterday.
Jaclyn Clark had 13 kills and four aces and setter Ashley Guthrie recorded 19 assists for Saugus.
Hart needed five games to take care of San Marcos. Jennie Long had nine kills and Brittani Elser and Breena Beckett each had eight kills for Hart.
Canyon was swept in three games by Westlake. Courtney Longshore had a team-high six kills for Canyon.
Santa Clarita Christian easily handled Tarbut V’torah in three games. Natalie Keoshian led Santa Clarita Christian with seven kills.
The Master’s College women’s volleyball team lost its second Golden State Athletic Conference match, getting swept by Vanguard last night. Caitlyn Ramirez had a team-high six kills for The Master’s College.
The Master’s College is 1-2 against conference opponents and has lost two of its last four matches.
The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Fresno City College. Sarina Coutin scored the equalizer for COC (1-3-1) on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
