Both soccer teams lose in first round.
The Saugus High girls soccer team already accomplished more than any other team in school history, winning a CIF Southern Section championship and reaching the Regional tournament. But the Saugus girls finally met their match Tuesday, losing 3-2 to Buchanan High in Clovis in the first round of the Division I Southern California Regionals.

Jamie Molacek scored both goals for Saugus, capping an incredible playoff run for Saugus.
The Vasquez High girls soccer team came up short in the Division III regionals, losing 5-1 to The Bishop’s School in San Diego.
It’s probably a little too early to panic, but the Valencia High boys volleyball team is 0-2 after losing to Mater Dei on Tuesday. The Valencia boys won a national championship in volleyball last year, but have not played like champions to start the 2009 season. They were swept in three games by Mater Dei.
The Signal is reporting that Sean O’Brien will be the next varsity football coach at West Ranch High. Principal Bob Vincent made the announcement at a football boosters meeting last night, according to The Signal.
