For the second time in as many games, the first round of the Stanley Cup Play-Off’s is won in overtime. Except this time it was the Kings coming out on top.
The Kings are heading home tied with the Canucks at one game each. Steve Bernier got the Canucks their first goal at 7:33 in the first period. Just minutes later at 9:49, Mikael Samualsson gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead, which is how the first period ended. At 10:58 in the second period, Fredrik Modin got the Kings on the board to make it a 2-1 game. With the momentum on the Kings side, Wayne Simmonds tied the game at 8:27. No scoring in the third period led to Over-Time. At 7:28 in OT, Anze Kopitar gave the Kings the win, to tie the series at one game each.
