April 30: Dodgers Break Losing Streak Beating The Pirates 6-2

After a five game losing streak, with three of those games being shut-outs, the Dodgers finally gave their fans a lot to cheer about, taking the lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looking back.

The Pirates got on the scoreboard in the top of the first when Akinori Iwamura hit a lead-off ground-rule double. He was driven home with a double by Andrew McCutchen. However, the Dodgers answered quickly in the bottom of the first with a single by Xavier Paul then a Home Run by Andre Ethier. The Dodgers put three more on the board in the bottom of the third when James Loney hit a three run homer, bringing in Xavier Paul and Andre Ethier. The Pirates tried to get a rally going in the top of the fourth when Ryan Church hit a 2 out ground rule double, then was brought home with a double by Ryan Doumit. However, the Rally was short lived. In the end of the sixth, James Loney got a base hit, and then was brought home by Pinch-Hitter Ronnie Belliard. The final score was The Dodgers 6 and The Pirates 2.
