July 29, 2011: Dodgers Beat Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5

Having won five of its last seven games the Dodgers look to bounce back from Thursday’s loss to the Rockies.  The boys in blue will send trusty veteran Ted Lilly to the mound who’s looking for his seventh win of the season.  The Diamondbacks have rookie Josh Collmenter on the bump who has posted a 6-5 record and has a stellar 2.74 ERA.

Dodgers are down one run after a home run by Diamondbacks third baseman, Ryan Roberts. And in the middle of the 4th Matt Kemp brings the Dodgers in the lead with a homerun making the score 3-1. Soon after, in the top of the 4th, Justin Upton scored for the Diamondbacks making the score 3-2. Ending the 4th Inning with bases loaded, Kemp took the mound and struck a homerun, his 25th of the season making the score 5-2.

And at the top of the Fifth Inning, we had Bloomquist make a run for the Diamondback bringing the score to 5-3 until the Top of the 6 where Roberts singled to the right and Chris Young scored making the score 5-4.

By the bottom of the Sixth, Carroll scores and Kemp grounded into double play for the Dodgers. Next, in the top of the Seventh Inning Upton swung a homer through the park for the Diamondbacks making the score 6-5. Dodgers take an amazing 9-5 lead in the bottom of the Seventh Inning, after Navarro, Carroll and Kemp score. Dodgers manage to keep the Diamondbacks down all the way through the bottom of the Ninth, finishing the game 9-5.
