Going in to this game, the Kings needed to win 3 of their next 6 games to make it to the play-offs for the first time since 2002. Now, with a Calgary loss and a Kings win, the Kings could clinch Saturday night!
1st. period: Alexander Frolov puts the Kings on the board at 5:26 into the first. Then at 14:01, Anze Kopitar makes
it a 2-0 game. Team Captain Dustin Brown gives the Kings a 3-0 lead with a score at 18:02.
2nd. period: The Kings get off to another fast start, Jarret Stoll scores at 1:47 in to the 2nd. period. Dustin Brown
scores his 2nd. of the game at 9:15. Not to be shut-out, Kyle Wellwood puts the Canucks on the score
board at 12:43. Seconds later, at 13:22,Ryan Kesler makes it a 5-2 game.
3rd. period: At 3:31 in the 3rd period, Dustin Brown scores for only the 2nd. Hat Trick of his career, putting the
Kings up 6-2. However, the Canucks answered quickly with Kyle Wellwood’s score at 4:49 to make it 6-3
Kings. But the ice at Staples was on fire, as the Kings Justin Williams answered with a goal at 6:38 to give
the Kings a 7-3 lead. Micheal Handzus gets in to the Kings scoring action at 16:40 in to the 3rd, giving the
Kings a 8-3 lead.
