Kings vs Ducks 4/3/10

The Kings are still just a few games from clinching a spot in the Stanley Cup Play-Offs, even with their loss to the Ducks Saturday night.

With only 20 seconds left in the first period, Jack Johnson put the Kings on the board, sending them to the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.
At 16:01 in to the second period, it looked like Jarret Stoll gave the Kings an ‘Insurance Goal’, but upon review, the net had been knocked out of place before the puck went in, therefore, the goal did not count. So the Kings went in to the second intermission still holding on to their 1-0 lead.
With only 1:32 left in the third period, the Ducks Saku Koivu tied it up, sending the game into an extra period. With no score in over-time, the game went in to a Shoot-Out. In the third round of the shoot-out, Saku Koivu scored to give the Ducks the win.

To date, the high point of the Kings 44 year history was during the 1992-1993 season when they advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. They lost the series against the Montreal Canadiens in five games.
The Kings meet the Ducks again Tuesday night, this time in Anaheim. You can catch all the action, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 6:30, on your Hometown Station, AM1220 KHTS.
