Thursday was opening day for the Dodgers 2011 season. L.A. opened a Four-game homestand against the San Francisco Giants. 23 year old pitcher Clayton Kershaw threw seven scoreless innings, struck out nine batters, allowed four hits with one walk. Giants pitcher – two-time Cy Young winner Tim Linecum threw five strikeouts, allowing five hits and three walks. In the bottom of the eight, Matt Kemp Scored on a double hit by James Loney giving L.A. a 1 to 0 lead. Then in the ninth, Pat Burrrell hit a flyball home run giving the Dodgers their first win of the season and a shutout. 2 to 1 was the final.
