May 24 2011: Dodgers Beat Astros 5-4

The Dodgers hang on and defeat the Astros Tuesday night putting an end to a three game losing streak. The Dodger’s hitting exploded with a home run by Jay Gibbons in the 2nd inning. Then Jerry Sands hits his first career grand slam at the top of the 3rd inning would put the Dodgers up by 5 runs. Shaky pitching by Chad Billingsley gave the Astros a chance to score which they did with a double by Hunter Pence and a single by Carlos Lee at the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Astros scored again at the bottom of the 6th inning with a Chris Johnson sacrifice fly ball which Hunter Pence scored putting the Astros within 1 run. Then the Dodger’s pitching came back to life holding off the Astros and sealed the game. The final score was 5-4.
