The Dodgers had two milestones on the line as they traveled to Chicago to take on the Cubs in the first of a six game road trip. The Dodgers had not lost back-to-back games since May 4th and 5th. They were also attempting to win seven straight road games for the first time since July of 2004. Neither happened.
The Dodgers bats never warmed up, and their defense was ice cold, with three costly Errors. The first came in the still scoreless bottom of the sixth inning when a fielding error by Rafael Furcal resulted in the Cubs first run. Then in the bottom of the eighth, Furcal made a throwing error, followed by a fielding error by Blake DeWitt, both of which led to two more runs for the Cubs. The Dodgers were shut out with the final score 3-0.
The Dodgers will take on the Cubs again Wednesday afternoon with the pre-game show starting at 4:30 and the first pitch at 5:05. Catch all of the action on AM1220 KHTS, your Hometown Station.
