So Cal Choppers Advance In ASA Gold Softball Tournament

sportslocalThe Valencia-based So Cal Choppers softball team keeps rolling through the ASA 18-and-under Gold Tournament in Oklahoma City. For the second time in a week, the Choppers beat the Gold Coast Hurricanes, the reigning ASA Gold Tournament champions from Florida.

Hart High graduate Destiny Rodino threw a three-hitter, shutting out the Hurricanes, 5-0, on Thursday.

 

Valencia High grad Madison Shipman hit a solo home run in the first inning and fellow Valencia High standout Megan Foglesong had two hits for the Choppers.

Next up for the Choppers are the Worth Firecrackers this morning. Hart High graduate and catcher Jessica Shults plays for the Firecrackers, 5-4 winners over the Texas Eclipse Gold on Thursday.

The championship game of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday.
