The Master’s College Baseball Wins Opening Round Game In NAIA Championship Tournament

The Master’s College baseball team shut out Tabor from Kansas, 1-0, in the opening round of the NAIA national championship tournament.

Mustangs starter AJ Work scattered seven hits in the complete-game win. He struck out six and walked three.

Cody Harris was 2-for-4 and drove in the winning run in the eighth inning.

In high school baseball, West Ranch beat Saugus, 5-2, and won a share of the Foothill League championship.

JD Krauskopf hit two home runs, including a two-run shot in the seventh inning, to give the Wildcats its final three-run advantage.

West Ranch won the Foothill League championship for the second year in a row and shares it with Canyon.

The Canyon baseball team beat Valencia, 3-2, and will qualify for CIF playoffs for the first time since 2007.

Chris Jenkins hit a solo home run and Jason Rowe drove in a run in the second inning for Canyon.

The Hart baseball team beat Golden Valley, 6-3, but finished in fourth place in the Foothill League and will miss the CIF playoffs for the first time since 1986.

The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team beat Faith Baptist, 6-5, and won the Heritage League championship.

In high school softball, West Ranch shut out Valencia, 1-0, and completed an undefeated run through the Foothill League. The Wildcats went 10-0.

Lexi Sorenson pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts for the shutout win.

The Saugus softball team beat Golden Valley, 16-4. Lauren Ventura drove in three runs for Saugus.

The Hart softball team beat Canyon, 10-1. Jenae Coleman was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Hart.

In baseball, the Dodgers will look to snap a seven-game losing streak against the lowly Miami Marlins tonight at Dodgers Stadium.

The Dodgers send Matt Magill to the mound to make his third start of the season. The Marlins counter with Jose Fernandez. First pitch is at 7:10.

In hockey, the Kings will look to wrap up their first-round playoff matchup against the St. Louis Blues tonight at Staples Center.

The Kings are up 3-2 and are coming off a 3-2 overtime win over the Blues in St. Louis.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Blues tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. The puck drops at 7.
