The Master’s College men’s basketball team beat Holy Names, 96-83, and broke a five-game losing streak. Joey Fuca scored 30 points and hit four 3-pointers to lead The Master’s College.
Devin Dyer scored 20 points and Leif Karlberg had 16.
The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team beat Pilgrim, 53-43, behind 22 points from James Brooks. He also had nine rebounds and five steals.
Trinity improved to 3-0 in Omega League play with the win. Jordan Mumper had 17 points and six assists.
The Vasquez girls basketball team lost to Lone Pine, 65-34. Madison Garrick scored 11 points and had eight steals for Vasquez.

A couple boys basketball teams from the Foothill League are in action tonight. The Golden Valley boys play Highland at home. The Saugus boys basketball team is in Glendora.
In high school soccer, the Santa Clarita Christian boys lost to St. Genevieve, 5-1. Daniel Stratton scored the lone goal for Santa Clarita Christian early in the second half. St. Genevieve had a 2-0 lead at halftime and scored three goal in the second half.

The Saugus boys soccer team is home against Chamindae today.
The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed back Andrew Bynum and said good-bye to Sasha Vujacic.
Bynum played his first game of the season since having off-season knee surgery. He scored seven points and had four rebounds in the Lakers 103-89 win over the Washington Wizards.
Vujacic was part of three-team deal that will send Joe Smith from the New Jersey Nets to the Lakers. The trade sends Terrence Williams from the Nets to the Houston Rockets. The Nets get the Lakers first round draft pick in 2011 and a draft pick from the Rockets.
In baseball, the New York Yankees landed catcher Russell Martin after losing out on signing free-agent pitcher Cliff Lee, according to various reports.
Martin, a two-time All-Star with the Dodgers, hit .248 with five home runs in 97 games for the Dodgers in 2010. Martin is expected to be the Yankees starting catcher next season as Jorge Posada moves into the designated hitter role.
Lee, the most coveted free-agent pitcher, surprisingly signed with the Philadelphia Phillies.
