The Master’s College Men’s Basketball Team Wins Two In Arizona

The Master’s College men’s basketball team won two games at the Embassy Suites Classic at Arizona Christian University.

The Mustangs beat Menlo College, 72-46, in the second and final day of the tournament.

Zach Stalin scored 14 points to lead the Mustangs. Chris Patreau had 12 points.

The Master’s College men have won eight games in a row. They head to UC Santa Barbara for an exhibition game on Saturday.

The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team reached the championship game of the Cougar Holiday Classic and lost to Antelope Valley College, 71-69 in overtime.

Roman Delgado scored 21 points for COC against Antelope Valley College.

The COC men beat Palomar, 53-40, in the first round and Orange Coast College, 90-63, in the semifinals.

In high school basketball, the West Ranch girls lost to Burroughs, 66-44, in the consolation final of the West Coast Holiday Festival. The score was tied, 23-23, at halftime.

Whitney Branham scored 25 points for West Ranch. The Wildcats dropped to 8-6.

In college football, Michigan State beat Stanford, 24-20, in the 100th Rose Bowl game in Pasadena. It was Michigan State’s first appearance in the Rose Bowl in 26 years.

Stanford led, 17-14, at halftime. Michigan State took the lead on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Connor Cook to Tony Lippett in the fourth quarter.

Cook, the Michigan State quarterback, threw for a career-high 332 yards.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Charlotte Bobcats, 112-85, and ended their three-game losing streak.

Blake Griffin scored 31 points and had 12 rebounds. Next up for the Clippers are the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

In the NHL, the Kings are in St. Louis for a game against the Blues tonight. The Kings are trying to snap a four-game losing streak. They lost to the Dallas Stars, 3-2, on Tuesday.
